STEM Racing: The Professional Class
The Professional Class is the pinnacle of the STEM Racing Secondary Division.
For 25 years, STEM Racing has empowered young innovators worldwide by challenging them to build and run their own miniature racing team. Participants design, manufacture, and race a model car along a 25-meter track while managing real-world operations—from CAD modeling and aerodynamics to securing sponsorships, budgeting, marketing, and team organization. By applying science, technology, engineering, and math, students solve complex technical challenges while mastering hands-on engineering, project management, and enterprise skills. This dynamic competition fosters creativity, communication, and teamwork, equipping participants with practical experience that sets the foundation for future careers in engineering, design, and business.
The 14th of April marked one of the most important days in the history of APOLLO. It was the day, it was announced that Deutsche Schule Athen, Anatolia College and Moraitis School would be joining forces for a shared dream of reaching the STEM Racing World Finals in Singapore. It was the day when we all saw our hard work finally pay off, by giving us the opportunity to materialize our goal of reaching the World Finals and proudly representing our country, Greece.
The 1st of June set the pillars for what was about to later become history. For the first time, all three teams had their in-person kick-off meeting in Thessaloniki. There, we saw a horizon towards the World Finals being built. We were able to find our common ground, such as goals, a shared vision and mainly, the fire of innovation constantly “burning” inside each and every one of us.
The moment we had all been waiting for came on the 1st of October, as all of us stepped foot in Singapore. Our time to show our countless hours of hard work was finally now. Now it is our time to shine - our time to prove both ourselves and the entirety of the world, what Greece has to show in STEM Racing. Now, it is our time to write our own history in the books of Greek STEM history.
